Praise for the Little Guy
Last Friday I went to the BYU Spectacular with Ben Rector. He sang a song that I had heard before called The Men That Drive Me Places. This song is a tribute almost to all the people in the world that are working hard to just get by. He sings of the men that drive the taxis that take him to all his various shows and flights. I thought it was really amazing that an artist as famous as Ben Rector takes time to think about the people that he interacts with every day even on the smallest of levels. It is a very touching song! I loved that it made Ben so much more relatable and that he combined media with a humanistic approach to looking at the world.
I absolutely love that song! I think it really shows how humble he is and wants to share that everyone has a story!
ReplyDeleteI love Ben Rector! I wasn't able to go to BYU spectacular but I heard it was awesome, and that song is so great!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that someone so famous can be so real too. I'm not super familiar with his music but after reading this I'm really excited to go look it up!
ReplyDeleteI love Ben Rector! My husband is on the dunk team so he got to meet him and get to know him a bit during rehearsals for BYU Spectacular. He's a super down to earth guy! I wish more people wrote music like he does - I feel like we'd all feel a little better about ourselves and about the world.
